SCOTTSDALE RESIDENCE

Our Scottsdale project underwent a dramatic two-year transformation to fulfill our clients’ desire for a more modern version of their Adobe-style home. To harmonize with the exterior architecture, we created a transitional style that lay emphasis on curved elements.

Throughout the home, the chunky Adobe-style walls and soffits were removed, and soft curved elements were added as a subtle nod to the style. The home now features curved elements in the cabinetry, stonework, tiling, and doorways.

One of the main focuses while reimagining the space was to enjoy the landscape from all corners of the first floor as the home is nestled along the Estancia golf course with sweeping views of the McDowell Mountain range. We removed the non-structural wall closing off the kitchen from the rest of the home and enlarged the nook. A movable glass wall system was added to the living room and kitchen to seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor living.

Furniture and lighting throughout were carefully curated to complement architectural details throughout. The color palette draws from the desert landscape, with unexpected color accents introduced through original art and accents. Every space was thoughtfully designed around our clients’ wishes, resulting in a unique blend of the traditional Adobe architecture and fresh, modern interiors.
